More warheads
I The United States Air Force has disclosed that it will increase by 100 the number of nuclear warheads poised on its land-based intercontinental ballistic missile force. The increase will come through replacing 50 single-warhead Minuteman II missiles with an equal number of triple-warhead Minuteman 111 weapons. When the replacement is completed, officials said, the air force would have 600 Minuteman 111 missiles carrying 1800 warheads in firing positions along with 400 Minuteman II weapons.— Washington.
