Greg Chappell
Sir,—.Whatever the memories of a spur of a moment decision, since publicly regretted, may we let them rest in peace and not leave a great sportsman and a great cricketer with a sour taste for New . Zealand cricket crowds. The past is dead; forget it and if ~we must ,go back to It let’s just remember Greg Chappell's great deeds and the pleasure he has brought to lovers of the game throughout the cricket world. Let the dead past bury its dead and may we hope that, in what may well be his last tour of New Zealand, the great captain of a great cricketing country may leave our country without bitter memories either on his side or ours.—Yours, etc.,
J. NEE. February 12, 1982.
