Lincoln High School made the most of a fine first innings performance to beat Springston by 51 runs on the second day of their Ellesmere Cricket Association match at Springston. Despite a second innings batting collapse, which included a hat-trick to Springston’s D. Lancaster. the students’ bowling and fielding proved too much for the opposition. Other eighth round results saw Burnham A suffer its third consecutive defeat at the hands of Irwell and Weedons almost fell into Dunsandel's clutches. The latter team has achieved the reputation of being a giant-killer with a five-run win over Lincoln and a three-run victory over Burnham A. Weedons nearly became .another scalp when', requiring only 56 runs to take the match, it found itself eight wickets down and four runs short of the target.
