Course work begins
PA Hamilton Earthmoving machinery will start levelling and contouring a new golf course at Raglan on Monday. The president of the Raglan Golf Club, Mr Bob Douglas, said that the site survey for the new course, on farmland west of Raglan, had been completed, and old
fences and gorse removed. He said that fund-raising was well under way for the new course, although substantial assistance had been guaranteed by the Government, which bought the site for an undisclosed sum in a bid to end the long-standing Maori land dispute over the club’s existing course.
