Invercargill report
The Invercargill woo] sale by separation in. Christchurch yesterday resulted in very strong prices for long fleece wool and very* fine lambs’ wool, according to the official report by the Southland Woolbrokers’ Association. There was an offering of 11.265 bales of mainly long fleece and lambs' wool. The fleece wool showed yellow colouring due to excessive rain in the past few weeks, and also mnost lots contained a good deal of tenderness’
The lambs' wool was just barely combing length as is usual’ for the early shorn lambs from Southland. Bidding was general with a very’ strong tendency. The official range of prices issued by the Southland Woolbrokers’ Association was: Ewe fleece Good 270 to 285 c Average 260 to 270 c Low yielding 245 to 260 c Lambs' wool Very fine 52-54 s 300 to 315 c Good 50-52 s 265 to 275 c Avarage ; , 255 to 265 c
