Strike ends at Caltex
Oil storemen at the Caltex Oil Company's Lyttelton depot returned to work yesterday after a 24-hour stoppage in protest at what they claimed w-as management performance of storeman’s w-ork. In a separate dispute the Labourers’ Union reached agreement with Caltex over union demands for the reinstatement of a storeman who had been dismissed recently, six months before he was due to retire. The company and the union agreed that the man should retire early.
