Strong demand from buyers seeking to cover forward commitments pushed prices for Halfbred fleece wool and fine crossbred lambs' wool up by 2.5 to 3 per cent at yesterday’s eighth Christchurch wool sale of the 1981-82 season. In a combined sale with Invercargill wool. the Christchurch w’ool offering was 22 per cent lambs’ wool and virtually no fine fleece wools. The Wool Board was required to support the market to only a limited extent and had 1 per cent sold or passed to it.
