General forecast: The belt of high pressure extending from the Tasman Sea across the South Island should continue to give fine, dry weather to most of the country. However, a moist easterly airstream is expected to bring showers in Northland. Auckland, and Gisborne. A weak cold front over the south Tasman Sea may bring a cool south-west change and isolated showers to southern Fiordland and the Southland and Otago coasts. District forecasts: Canterbury: Moderate northeasterlies becoming fresh about the coast by afternoon, some cloud in
the morning, otherwise fine and mild. Nelson. Buller, Westland: Some morning low cloud or fog, otherwise fine with a warm afternoon; light winds apart from moderate daytime sea breezes. Marlborough: Fine and sunny, strong south-east-erlies about the outer Sounds abating slowly with moderate east or north-east winds elsewhere: warm inland this afternoon. Outlook: Continuing fine over most of the country but some showers are likely in Northland and about the Coromandel Peninsula.
