Fine softball display
PA Greymouth A fine display of power batting and precise pitching helped the touring Canadian women’s softball side overcome challenges from West Coast and Buller on Wednesday night. Playing their second double-header in as many days, the Canadians never looked like being beaten. It was a small lapse in its tight fielding pattern that
allowed one West Coast batter to get to second base. Canada won by 12 runs to nil. Buller felt the might of the tourists earlier in the evening and eventually fell to a 0-17 defeat after some good fielding and pitching from Canada. Fielding errors enabled Canada to bring home several runners during the game.
