Arson guilty pleas
PA Auckland Two men who had been charged with setting fire to the Pearl Baker Superette in Otara have been remanded in custody for sentence in the High Court. ' ' Jackie Wallace Neho. aged 18. a storeman of Orakei, and Tamaki Pomare, aged. 32. a driver of. Pakuranga. both pleaded guilty to the charge in the- District Court at Otahuhu vesterdav
When they appeared on Monday the’ charges were laid summarily, which was incorrect. Yesterday the charges were laid indict'ably. At the earlier hearing Pomare had entered no plea, but this wHs changed yesterday to a plea of guilty. . judge Gillies remanded both men in 'custody for a probation report and sentence in the High Court on February 17.
