Cedar Key noses out favourite
Cedar Key thwarted the hopes of thousands when he
nosed out the hut favourite The Vision, in the Post Handicap. the third leg of the T.A.B. treble at Riccarton vesterdav.
A win tor The Vision would have given the Dennis brothers a possible with three runners on the programme. And such a leal seemed likely until the Riccarton owned and trained Cedar Key captialised on a
sustained challenge in the shadow of the post.
The Vision was a hot favourite carrying $14,150 in win bets. Cedar Key was the eighth favourite and paid $24.30. generous odds consid-
ering he had won in successive starlb over sptinl distances before failing over 2'JUOin al Waikouaiti on January I. Cedar Key is raced by the Riccarton trainer. Brydon Mills, in partnership with his wife. Linda and was ridden by the stable apprentice
Raewyn Star. The finish of the Post Handicap was very much a two-sided affair. Katiki Girl (third) was two lengths back and then there was a length and a quarter to Double Jay.
