Resignation of Mr Justice Mahon
Sir,—l wonder if it would-be possible for Mr Muldoon to refrain from acting like a “Jack-in-the-box,” jumping up to comment upon or criticise whatever Mr Justice Mahon says. It only re-emphasises his determination: (1) To express his views in an effort always to be right. (2) Continually to protect his friends. Could he but hear the comments of the ordinary man and woman and how they are assessing this behaviour, I judge he might realise how unwise he is. It seems he cannot accept an opinion different from his own. Let him put his energy and concentration into our tax problems and unemployment. I heartily endorse the comments of Jill Willcox and D. Currie. In my opinion also, you have been less than fair in positive reports concerning Mr Justice Mahon.—Yours, etc., MRS M. J. YOUNG. February 5, 1982.
