Bigger basketball league
The national basketball league that bad its inaugural season last year will return this year with increased sponsorship and a new name. The league will be known as the Countrywide Basketball League and will be sponsored by the Countrywide Building Society for an undisclosed sum. The New Zealand Basketball Federation’s executive officer, Mr Joe McLeod, said in Christchurch yesteday that it was the sponsor’s policy not to disclose the exact amount of sponsorship, “but it is a five figure sponsorship.”
