Kingston Town injured

NZPA Sydney Kingston Town has been injured but will be back for the million dollar spring carnival in Melbourne, Tulloch Lodge stable manager, Ernie Smith, said yesterday. The champion was ruled out of autumn racing at the week-end on the recommendation of the veterinarian, Percy Sykes. Kingston Town injured his near foreleg in a recent track gallop. “The injury will take three to five months to heal and that would give him more than enough time to prepare for the spring,” Smith said. “It is not serious but takes time to cure, but his ability will not be affected in any way.” Smith said Kingston Town was due to leave yesterday for Muskoka Property at Wiseman’s Ferry to spell. “It is in the horse’s interests that he is near Sydney so we can keep constant check on him," Smith said.
