County power rise?
Power users in Heathcote County may have to pay 5 per cent more for their electricity from April. If there was no increase in the retail tariff for 1982-1983, there would be a deficit of about $91,000, the county electrical engineer, Mr I. R. Densem, told yesterday’s electricity committee meeting.
Mr Densem said that his estimate allowed for an increase in power sales, including supplying Princess Margaret Hospital, which previously used gas. An increase of 4 per cent 'would result in about a $5OOO deficit and an increase of 5 per cent would give a surplus of $17,000.
