General forecast: Over the North Island, it should be cloudy in western districts from Taranaki to Wellington, with showers likely. Elsewhere in the north it should be mainly fine and warm, with strong northerly winds about Wellington and westerlies elsewhere, fresh at times, especially about southern Taranaki, Wanganui, and Manawatu. Over the South Island, there should be rain about Fiordland and Southland, spreading at times in to western Otago. Elsewhere in the south, it should be cloudy, with some drizzle, in western areas and fine and warm in the east.
