Visit to Cuba

Sir,—Visits by leading F.O.L. officials to Russia and to the conference of the Com-munist-controlled World Federation of Trade Unions confirm what I have been saying for years about these people. These self-confessed Communists are now openly fraternising with representatives of the regime that has crushed .so many free people. New Zealanders are now witness to the same repressive deeds that are

practised on people in many parts of the world, by way of compulsory union laws. There must be some well-meaning union people, but they are really pawns in a corrupt game in which our businesses, our livelihood, and our prosperity are being broken. James Forrester’s letter (Tuesday) must voice the thoughts of a lot of people. I just hope it is being followed up with action. Our members of Parliament must hear from all of us who want to see the repeal of these laws of compulsion. — Yours, etc..

SCOTT ARMSTRONG. January 19. 1982.
