Polytechnic enrolments next week
Christchurch Polytechnic will open its doors next week for enrolments from parttime students.
Last year about 7000 parttime students took courses, and the staff hopes for good numbers again when students enrol next Wednesday and Thursday. A course in word processing, and another course leading to a diploma in business studies are among new offerings this year. Other courses will include Japanese, Maori, and Samoan, computer programming, and art. “We get a real cross-sec-tion of age and interest groups taking part-time courses," said Mr A. D. A. Deavoll, the Polytechnic acting associate director.
Enrolments can be made at the Polytechnic’s enrolment centre, in the recreation and sports hall complex. Access is gained by following direction signs from either Madras Street or Barbadoes Street (Moorhouse Avenue end) at their intersections with Coventry Street. Staff will be on duty to deal with enrolments, offer advice and assist with planning suitable courses from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on each of the two days.
