Hydroslide

Sir.-1 recently attended Queen Elizabeth II park with my class, to enjoy the hydro slide. Very few of us were able to afford $2.50 being payment for a halt-hour ride. I was fortunate enough to be able to pay the cost for this very enjoyable slide. After having several rides I wished my classmates to experience such a slide. But to my disappointment I quickly learned that this was not allowed and had my mat taken from me. Can you imagine the expense incurred for a family of four at $2.50 each? I find it hard to understand why these mats cannot be shared during the period of one half hour. What about a young child having his first ride, not enjoying it and paying $2.50 for one ride? His mat could not be shared with his family. How would the mother of six feel about this?— Yours. etc.. ANDREA BEDDIE. December 28, 1981,

[For Hydroslides. N.Z.. Ltd, Mr lan W. Gamble replies: "The hydroslides are built and operated to American specifications. The terms of the franchise agreement with the United States company does not allow us to transfer mats during a half-hour ride."]
