(c) An HF Station to provide back-up for the Earth Station and a direct link to Kiribati. (d) A restricted MF/HF/VHF shipping watch in the Maritime Mobile Service. (e) Civil Aviation equipment including NDB, DME, VOR, HF/VHF and other associated equipment. (f) VHF Land Mobile System and Paging System. (g) Accounting with Distant End Telecommunication Administration and all negotiations relating thereto and national/international billing. Recommending changes in tariffs when necessary and (h) .Licensing of Stations in the Maritime Mobile and Amateur Radio Services etc. NOTE: The National/international Telephone Switching Equipment is to be replaced with a Digital System using stored programme control techniques in the near future. The director is responsible for the control of revenue and expenditure within the telecommunication sphere of operations, and is expected to advise the secretary on all matters affecting general policy including annual estimates of financial revenue and expenditure. QUALIFICATIONS: First class certificate of proficiency in radio telephony and radio telegraphy and several years experience in a telecommunications senior administrative position. 2. POSITION: CROSSBAR TECHNICIAN SALARY: $A8554-$A9412 p.a. (Tax free on Nauru) depending on experience and qualifications. DUTIES: Responsible to the Director of Telecommunications through the Telephone Engineer for the operation and maintenance of two NCIOO Telephone Exchanges, LM Ericsson PABXs and Key Telephone Systems etc., and to liaise with the Cable/Lines Technician on telephone faults.
