NZPA-Reuter Fukuoka Robert de Castella, of Australia, won the Fukuoka international marathon in Fukuoka yesterday in two hours eight minutes and 18 seconds, just five seconds outside the world record. Castella, aged 24, finished the race ahead of two Japanese runners, Kunimitsu Ito, second in 2:09:37 and Shigeru Soh, third in 2:10.19.
