BEAUMONT In-form Robinson has strong lineup tomorrow

Special correspondent Dunedin Ali Robinson, the Wingatui jockey, who rode four winners on his home course last Saturday, has a good lineup of mounts to maintain the tempo at Beaumont tomorrow. Robinson has been engaged for Colonel Proctor. Merry Brigade, Gondon. Piparyl. Ima Laddie. Willeyon. Boulder City, and Hearseur. Colonel 'Proctor. the topweight in the first leg of the T.A.B. treble was a fast finishing fourth at the Southland meeting last week. Merry Brigade, which is now trained by Gaudin Cowie at Oamaru. made ground for eighth when resuming at Wingatui last Saturday. Robinson has an outstanding record on the Beaumont course. He has ridden five winners there in one day and has twice had four wins. His five wins were in April, 1979. on Off An On, Resemble, Francille, Cottage Gate and Beau Terrific. He won on Caparo, Ef Cee, Owhata Son and Laurel at the 1979 December meeting, repeating his feat of seven years earlier when he was successful on Oceanic Flight, Smart Mellay, Ennis and Menuetto. The last named quartet were trained by Brian Anderton. who prepared Willeyon. Robinson's mount in the second trial maiden tomorrow. Anderton will saddle the leading fancies. Auditory and Joyarty. Double Gem and Lord Venture will be other hopes for his North Taieri stable. Malcolm Kennedy, the stable apprentice, will ride Mr Ay Bee in the Powell Handicap. Kennedy, who has ridden eight winners, can claim 3kg for Mr Ay Bee. bringing the gelding's weight back to 54kg. Mr Ay Bee has thrived since winning at Riccarton at the recent New Zealand Cup meeting. Peck, the speedy front runner, could prove Mr Ay Bee's stumbling block, especially if Mr Ay Bee strikes any traffic problems in a 10horse field. Syrie Boye. which races in

the same ownership and from the same stable as MiAy Bee. looks the one to beat in-the first leg of the double. He won well at the Southland meeting last week. He has drawn favourably and should be able to trail as he did last week when he ran on strongly to win by a length and a quarter. Cara Dee. Tiara and Joyarty. the minor placegetters behind him last week, will come in for close attention. Race 5 1.25T.A.B.
