One century scored in lower grades

Only one century was scored in the Canterbury Cricket Association's lower-grade competitions on Saturday. The successful batsman was the High School Old Bovs B eighth-grade player. Tony Fleming, who made an ’ unbeaten 109 against Lancaster Park.

Two bowlers managed a bag of seven wickets. Bill Cherry (Burnside-West, fourth grade) taking seven for 55 against Marist and G. Robertson (Marist, sixth grade) capturing seven wickets for 28 runs against Lancaster Park.

In the second grade, both Neil Francis (St Albans) and Kit Chambers (Lancaster Park) took five wickets to boost their individual match totals to 10.
