General forecast: The large anticyclone covering New Zealand is expected to bring fine weather to most places. However, an easterly airstream should continue to bring scattered showers to northern districts of the North Island, and isolated afternoon showers are likely elsewhere. District forecasts: Canterbury: Moderate easterlies about the coast, tending north-easterly; lowcloud and coastal drizzle this morning, but becoming fine later in the day. Nelson. Buller: Light winds.
