Central Pacific. THE COMPANY: The Nauru Phosphate Corporation, which was formed by the Republic of Nauru to develop the phosphate deposits on the Island, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor. THE POSITION: The person appointed will be responsible for the daily running, maintenance and maior overhauls of 4 x 16 C.S.V. English Electric engines and 4 x 16RK3C G.E.C. Ruston engines in their diesel power station. The position also entails the daily running and maintenance of the Corporation's cold storage facilities and other ancillary plant. Applicants must have extensive experience on diesel plant, and be able to delegate work and supervise overhauls using Pacific Island labour. Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration plant, and the forward ordering of spates would be an advantage. This position would suit an ex-marine engineer, and some engineering trade qualification is essential. SALARY: Commencing salary within the range $A7946 to $A8514 per annum (depending on .qualifications and experience), tax free on Nauru, plus Island allowance.of SASOO pa. for single.
