Overseas horses arrive
NZPA-Reuter Tokyo Two Canadian and three American horses have arrived to compete in the 123.5 million yen (sNZ69o,ooo)Japan Cup, Japans first international horse race, the Japan Racing Association announced yesterday. The association said the American horses included The Very One, a six-year-old mare, Mairzy Doates a five-year-old mare and , P’tite Tete, a five-year-old horse. The race is to be run on November 22. The Canadian horses are Frost King a three-year-old gelding, and Bridle Path, a five-year-old horse. Mr Macho, a four-year-old gelding from Canada and Own Opinion a six-year-old horse from India, arrived here earlier. The Association said the seven horses from three nations will race against eight Japanese horses in the 2400 m race on turf at the Tokyo Racing Course.
