Charteris Bay crew wins
A Charteris Bay crew, Mike McPhail and Martin Sinclair, sailed Rantan to victory in the South Island Flying Fifteen yachting championship at Timaru. The husband-and-wife pairing of Leatham and Ann Edmond (Otago), in Bullfrog, was second, and Paul Pritchett and Bob Coultas (Charteris Bay), in Fleetfoot, finished third. Canterbury also retained the Dallimore Trophy against Otago in the four-race series.
