'Ominious' job sign
Australia's unemployment fell by 23,500 in October, but this was attributed to seasonal factors, and the Federal Government said there had been no. significant change in the national labour market. The Opposition’s Employment spokesman, Bob Hawke, said Australia’s job market was still depressed, .and he said the number of teen-agers seeking their first jobs was rising. “This is an ominous sign, the new influx of school leavers only weeks away”, Mr Hawke said. — Canberra.
