Himalayan car rally
NZPA-Reuter New Delhi Ramesh Khoda, of Kenya, driving a Datsun 160 J, won the 3700-kilometre Himalayan Car Rally which ended in New Delhi yesterday. Khoda and his co-driver, Aslam Khan, of India, who had a tally of 779 penalty points, won a cash prize of 30,000 rupees. (SNZ4OOO). Major Ravi ' Kapur, of India, and his co-driver in a
Nissan Jonga were second, while Minoo Nanavathy and his . co-driver, also from India, driving a Mahindra jeep were third. Fifty-eighj. cars were flagged off from Bombay last Tuesday but only 13 finished the gruelling journey over some of the world’s toughest roads through plains, deserts and Himalayan mountains.
