Minister again sues broadcasting

PA Auckland The Minister of Energy (Mr Birch) has, filed a $lOO,OOO defamation action against the Broadcasting Corporation over a party political broadcast transmitted on behalf of the Labour Party. A writ seeking the damages was filed in the High Court at Wellington. The action is in addition to a writ filed in September claiming $600,000 against the corporation after an “EyeWitness” programme on television, and broadcasts on Radio New Zealand.
