Liquorland now 38 outlets
Ballins Industries, Ltd, Christchurch will go ahead with that part of the purchase of the liquor interests of. Dalgety New Zealand, Ltd to which the Examiner of Commercial Practices did not object. “We are delighted that our revised proposal to acquire the Dalgety outlets in Thames, Rotorua, Napier, Wanganui, and Levin, Nelson Dunedin, and the business of Philips and Pike, Ltd, in Wellington has been approved...” said Mr W. Wilson, Ballins’ chairman. He added that the exclusion of the outlets in Whangarei, Hamilton, and Christchurch was not material as Bailins already, owns outlets in those areas. “The additional outlets enable us to achieve our prime objective of completing a national retail chain,” Mr Wilson said. The 38 outlets will compete as the “Liquorland” group.
