Big rush to get on roll
PA Wellington Twelve thousand people made a last-minute application to be on the electoral roll on Thursday. The roll closed at 6 p.m.. but the • final. number of voters will not be known until Monday. . “Processing the figures will take us 48 hours,” said Mr Graeme Wilson, principal at the Electoral Roll Control Centre, at Post Office Headquarters.
He said there were about 12,000 new enrolments on Thursday throughout New Zealand, and the national total would now be more than two million.
