Conference dissatisfied
Anazement at the announcement by Mr Highet of four tew permits for trotting was expressed by the chief execitive officer of the Trotting I Conference (Mr John Rowley). Mr Rowlev said that the Miniiter was' aware of trotting’] total dissatisfaction with the Racing Authority’s deciaon that only four additiond permits be granted. “Tie authority has recently been supplied with further submissions in support of additional permits to other areas of the country,’’ he slid. “These submissions are to
be considered by the authority at its meeting today and the Trotting Conference finds it extraordinary that the Minister has apparently decided to adhere to the Authority’s recommendation without considering the further permit claims of trotting,” said Mr Rowlev.
