The wrong box
A young married couple from Lyon accidentally discarded $83,000 worth of gold bricks and coins on a rural dump recently, the police in Bougoin, south-eastern France, have said. The police were told by the careless couple that they always carried their savings with them in a cardboard box when they travelled. But they mistakenly threw away the wrong box. Gendarmes searched the dump and found the gold stashed in the drum of a discarded washing machine. Some children playing at the dump had > found the gold and cached it to serve as their “war chest" treasure. — Bougoin.
