Brych trial again delayed

NZPA-Reuter Los Angeles

The trial of the cancer therapist. Vlastimil Milan Brych. on charges of conspiring to violate various health and safety codes has been delayed until November 19. Brych. aged 40, who practised in New’ Zealand, was originally ordered to stand trial on March 24 but the trial w r as put back until October 27.

It was further delayed in the Los Angeles Superior Court because of a backlog of cases. Court officials said that defence • lawyers had indicated they would seek to have the case dismissed for lack of evidence. They said that if the trial went ahead the lawyers w’ere expected to ask the court to reject certain evidence on the ground that it was obtained without search warrants.
