Council instructs on vote
Waimairi County Council representatives on the Metropolitan Refuse Disposal Committee have been ordered to “vote in line with council policy." The council, at a meeting last evening, decided that Crs A. A. Adcock and I. G. Clark must follow council policy on major refuse matters.
Both representatives must also consult the County Chairman on any important issues if there is not time to consult the full council. More money The County Chairman, Mr D. B. Rich, will receive an annual allowance of $17,500, as of next year, the council having decided that the current annual allowance of $16,000 was too low.
However, committee chairmen and council members will still receive the present daily allowances of $26 and $22 respectively for days spent on council business.
All sitting committee chairmen were re-elected in the annual committee appointments.
