Praise for Kiwifruit wine
PA Tauranga The first release of Koha kiwifruit wine has been made. With 250 dozen bottles of wine made, Mr Russell Baker and his winemaker, Mr David Cumming, invited guests to taste for themselves. Mr Neville Lodge, of the Horticulture Processing Division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, said that it was a great satisfaction for his de-
partment to see the wine commercially produced. "We put five years of work into developing this wine, and today is the culmination of our efforts,” he said. If had the riesling syl-vaner-muller thurgau character that the developers were looking for. “It is a fresh wine with life in it,” he said. “It is clear with a good colour.” Koha is a Maori word meaning “symbol of eternal friendship.”
