Sergeant charged
PA Wellington A police sergeant did not plead when he appeared in the District Court at Lower Hutt yesterday morning, charged’ by an anti-Springbok tour protester with using offensive language. Senior-sergeant Noel Wynne was charged that on August 15 at Lower Hutt, he
used offensive language in a public place — State Highway No. 2 at Horokiwi. Mr David Grant MacPhersdn told Judge E. B. Robertson that he was the informant. Counsel (Mr C. O’Connor) asked for an adjournment without plea until November 6. The request was granted by Judge Robertson.
