Fence posts at walkway

Sir,—l daily enjoy walking through the Scarborough Walk and relish the various magnificent views it affords. The installation of posts would indicate that fencing is to be erected along the cliff edge. Notices advise that the walk is unsuitable for unaccompanied children. Surely responsible walkers do not need the protection of fences. May I ask that reconsideration be given to the placing of any structure which would impair the natural beauty of the cliffs, and seascape.—Yours, etc., JESSIE WOOLONS. August 31, 1981.
