Auckland clean sweep
PA Napier Auckland dominated > the national table tennis teams championships at Napier yesterday, retaining both the men’s and the women’s titles; The Auckland men’s closest match was a 7-4 win over Canterbury in the final round. Franklin and Northland, who had a tense first round clash on Monday, finished second and third respectively. The Auckland women beat Canterbury; .6-1, . in the virtual final with Hjitt Valley finishing third.
The B grade titles were won
by the Hutt Valley men and North Taranaki women. Final placings were.— Men’s A Grade: Auckland 1, Franklin 2, Northland 3. B Grade: Hutt Valley 1, Manawatu 2, Hamilton 3. C Grade: Kapiti 1, Southland 2. Waitemata 3. D Grade: Section 1 winner, North Taranaki; Section 2 winner, Bay of Plenty. Final: North Taranaki 6, Bay of Plenty 5. Women’s A Grade: Auckland 1, Canterbury 2, Hutt Valley 3. B Grade: North Taranaki 1, Hamilton 2, Franklin 3. C Grade: Wanganui 1, Hawke’s Bay 2. East Waikato 3. D Grade: Southland 1, Wairarapa 2, Waitemata 3.
