Shipping news R.F.L. agency appointed
Sea Link. Ltd. an Aucklandbased shipping agency company, has been named as New Zealand managing agents for Pacific Container Line, which was formerly the Boomerang Container Line. The agency is currently a subsidiary of Refrigerated Freight tines. Pacific Container Line will offer a trans-shipment service to and from the United Kingdom. Europe, and the Mediterranean via Japan, the Far East, and the east coast of North America. The appointment of Sea Link follows the formation of Pacific Container Services (N.Z.), Ltd, trading as Combined Maritime Agencies, to represent the interests of the line m New Zealand. Combined Maritime Agencies will also represent Jeco Shipping, 8.V., one of the members of the Dutch, German, and Japanese interests who form the consortium which operates Pacific Container Line. An agency spokesman saidJeco Shipping hopes to extend its other services into New Zealand in "the near future." Sea Link's appointment became effective yesterday.
