Hydroslide at Q.E. II Park
Taking shape under the hammer of Mr N. Brown is the hydroslide for the main pool at Queen Elizabeth II Park.
It is hoped that the work will be completed and the slide installed by November. Then the fun will begin.
For 52.50 to $3 a half-hour, riders equipped with special mats will be able to hurtle head-first through the 100 metres of contorted fibreglass tubing into the pool below. The hydroslide will be partially filled with water. Although it is New Zealand’s first, the job is in
experienced hands: Mr Brown, a Californian, has built 21 hydroslides in Australia and the United States.
The' project is being financed by Mr I. Gamble, of Hydroslides (New Zealand), Ltd. It will cost an estimated $15(1,000.
