Chch venue for conference
More than 200 people from New Zealand and Australia are expected to attend a conference, on occupational health in Christchurch this week.
The conference, -which will run from Thursday to Sunday, .is being organised by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine and the New Zealand Occupational Health Nurses’ Association.
Topics to be discussed will cover issues such as employment for the handicapped,
stress, women in industry, lead pollution and ■ alcohol problems in employment, and environmental pollution. Guest speakers will include Dr H. A. Waldron, a senior lecturer in occupational medicine at the London School of Hygiene and. Tropical Medicine, Dr G. R. C. Atherley, the president of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, and Professor M. Cooper, a professor of economics at the University of Otago.
