NORTHLAND HARBOUR BOARD TUG ENGINEER WE ARE SEEKING the services of a Marine Engineer holding a First Coastal or First Foreign going M.O.T. Motor Certificate for the positon of Tug Engineer. The Board operates four tugs, two single screw diesel-electric Kort nozzle, one single screw geared diesel Kort nozzle, and one twin screw Voith water tractor, all of approximately 2000 horse power and fully equipped for fire fighting and coastal salvage duties. One vessel is on duty 24 hours a day, which means that shift work is involved. The remaining three tugs are manned on a day work basis and at other times when necessary. The successful applicant will be required to be rostered for duty accordingly. The appointee will be required to reside at Marsden Point which is approximately 40 kilometres from Whangarei, and a three bedroom Board house at a low rental will be available. The successful applicant will be required to be a member of the New Zealand institute of Marine and Power Engineers.
