Party session cancellation
Sir,—With much concern 1 learnt of the cancellation of the National Parly conference session on Friday night. The decision to cancel’was made by Mr Chapman and five others on police advice. Democracy is truly dead in the National Party when at a conference with' at least 100 delegates, a decision is made by six of the party hierarchy, and no speaking rights or voting rights oh the matter are given even to those that I assume are selected by party members of their electorate to represent them. I am left wondering how much more of the National policy is bulldozed through the conference in this manner. Even at such meetings as union meetings decisions are made by vote. I am left with the conclusion that a vote against National is a vote for democracy.—Yours, etc..
