Rhodes leads field
NZPA Brisbane The defending title-holder. Lindy Goggin, of Tasmania, was three strokes off the lead after the first qualifying round of the Australian women's amateur golf championship at Royal Queensland yesterday. The New Zealander, Brenda Rhodes, led the qualifiers with an even card 72.
The 23-year-old Miss Rhodes went out in regulation figures and back even with the card to lead the field by one stroke. Scores: Brenda Rhodes (New Zealand) 72, Lyn Ipkendanz (N.S.W.) 73, Christine Clout (N.S.W.). Janice Arnold (N.Z.) 74, Jane Dale (South Aust.), Liz.
