Hadlee, Reid win cups
Richard Hadlee has been awarded the Winsor Cup for the country’s outstanding bowler for the fifth consecutive season, by the New Zealand Cricket Council’s Board of Control.
The Redpath Cup, for the top batsman, was awarded to the Auckland left-hander, John Reid, who had a fine test series against India last summer. Reid, who has not previously won the Cup,
topped the first class batting averages and aggregates las' season, with 817 runs at 58.4.
Hadlee’s performances both in Australia and against India obviously earned him the Cup. He has won the Cup more times than any other .player. Four players. Jack Cowie. Tom Burtt. Bob Blair and Dick Motz. have won the Cup three limes each.
