Special birthday gift
PA Auckland Mrs Emma Booth of Auckland has received probably the best present she could wish for for her 100th birthday, and the “present” arrived a week before the big day.
The “present” is Mrs Lorna Thomas who is Mrs Booth’s- niece, but they had never met.
Mrs Thomas arrived in New Zealand on Friday after her husband Robert won a competition. The prize was a British Airways air ticket to New Zealand and in view of Auntie Emma’s 100th birthday, he gave the ticket to his wife.
Mrs Booth’s daughters have organised a reunion party of her friends and family — which meant the guest list is more than 300 people. They include a granddaughter from Canada, a grandson from Bangladesh, another granddaughter from England, and her 45 greatgrandchildren and almost all of her 24 grandchildren.
