Long night charging
Police worked long into the night processing papers for the 80 people arrested in connection with Saturday’s debacle at Hamilton’s Rugby Park. The 80 included the pilot of a light, aeroplane that was reported stolen from Taupo. He was picked up at a Morrinsville racecourse and charged with stealing an aircraft, police said.
the pilot spent the night in police custody, with three other people. ’ Charges including disorderly behaviour, depositing dangerous litter on the Rugby Park playing field, assault, and wilful trespass were laid against 79 people, according to a police spokesman. Most of them were freed on bail and will appear in court today.
