I have no Maori blood but I am rooted in Te Waka a Maui the land. The potbellied hills rock me I sleep sprawled through the tussock and I hear the smack of water on stone, The hills cradle starfish under their skin, their long arms trickle out into the valleys. Hill, water, rock; the land.
